Denise Grundland, Psy.D., is a pre-licensed doctor of psychology. Denise completed her pre-doctoral internship at California State University-San Marcos at the Student Health and Counseling center. She is currently a registered psychologist at the Family Recovery Center completing her post-doctoral supervised professional experience. Dr. Grundland’s primary interests include: Treating PTSD caused by severe child abuse, domestic violence, or sexual assault; Systemic-Constructivist couples therapy; supervision dynamics; and resilience training. Her dissertation was titled: The lived experience of long-term happily married heterosexual individuals. She is bilingual (fluent in Spanish) and bicultural, as she is from Quito, Ecuador. Her professional goals are to become a skilled supervisor, open a group private practice, and to provide marital preparation workshops and workbooks, basing the curriculum on her dissertation research. For fun she enjoys singing, composing songs, painting, and watching “improv-comedy.”office pic
